About Us

European Vibe is a Madrid-based company that organises and promotes some of the biggest and most popular club nights in the Spanish capital today.

As well as the event side of the business, EV produces its own monthly lifestyle magazine, organises group travel for students throughout Spain and Southern Europe, finds student housing and organises sports tournaments for the Madrid-based expatriate community.

The Beginning

The origins of the company date back to October 2003, when company founder and Managing Director Scott Edwards, in collaboration with publishing company Hot English, created a Wednesday night student party at a club in the Argüelles area of Madrid called Orange Café (formerly known as Chesterfield Café). This party continues today and was the catalyst for a host of other club sessions produced and promoted by Scott and the newly named company European Vibe Entertainment. EV organised events at many of Madrid’s premier venues, including Hard Rock Café, Ducados Café , Planet Hollywood and Coyote Lounge. It soon became apparent that European Vibe parties had acquired a fine reputation and a large fan base among both the Spanish and international communities. As a result it was decided to enhance the company website by creating an interactive environment allowing partygoers, their friends and eventually thousands of like minded web users to meet, interact and share their interests and experiences. The website was created in both English and Spanish which helped the growing community of users to interact and meet in an intercambio-like environment. Since the launch of EuropeanVibe.com in 2004, it has gone on to become one of the fastest-growing websites in Spain, uniting people of many different nationalities and giving up-to-date information on the best of what Madrid has to offer.

The Club Nights

The European Vibe party expansion continued throughout 2005 with the creation of other weekly parties including Urban Music night Sugar at Lokua Club, which ran every Saturday night for nearly four years with enormous popularity and fame throughout Spain until December 2008 when a change in the Madrid licensing laws caused the venue’s closure along with twelve other popular clubs in the city. In February 2007, EV launched Fever at Joy Eslava on Thursday nights, which has become by far the biggest student party in Madrid, with an average weekly attendance of 1500.  Following on from the success of Fever, its more glamorous sister party, Fabulous, was launched on Fridays at Joy Eslava in November 2008. With Fabulous, European Vibe have stepped up to a whole new level, bringing together the clubbing elite of the capital city into one extravagant and spectacularly produced environment with visiting DJs from the super clubs and sessions of Europe, including Ministry of Sound, Hed Kandi and Housexy

The Magazine

In 2006, European Vibe moved in to the publishing world by founding EV Magazine - a free monthly lifestyle magazine for the English-speaking community of Madrid. The magazine provides the latest information on what is happening in the city, an extensive bar and restaurant section along with relevant and quality articles on cinema, travel, music, sport and culture. It acts as an essential guide to permanent city residents, exchange students and the many tourists visiting the city. Since its first publication, the magazine has featured exclusive interviews with a number of high profile bands, artists and sporting stars, including: The Kaiser Chiefs, The Feeling, Russell Simmons, Rev Run and English rugby captain Phil Vickery.

European Vibe Travel

In February 2008, the company decided to step into another area, complementary to its other activities and in which it would have a natural competitive advantage; both through accumulated popularity among the student community and expertise in providing its followers with a fun and entertaining, yet ultimately professional and safe, experience.

The first trip was to the Fallès of Valencia and since then EV has taken thousands of students to all of the major Spanish festivals including Carnaval de Cádiz, Spring Break/Semana Santa, la Feria de Abril and the running of the bulls in Pamplona; as well as weekend breaks to some of the most popular cities and holiday spots in Southern Europe and Northern Africa including Lisbon, the Algarve, Salamanca, Valencia, Barcelona, Ibiza and Morocco.
